our master bedroom…

i’ve never shown our master bedroom.  it was time to redo it.
i started by looking for a headboard, and,

i found one…remember my huge tv cabinet?
when the big tv died, my husband removed the front table, and, i have a “new” headboard.  i love the old tin panels mixed with vintage house trim boards.

i made this sign for the shelf.

this curve legged dressing table is on the right side of the bed. and it is on rollers—love furniture with rollers.

i really love the cute princess-y mirror that is hanging above the table.
my husband added a chandelier on the floor lamp, and a chandelier in the bird cage.

my dress form is wearing my new apron-(cuz i don’t cook:), and there’s a petticoat skirt on the ice cream parlor table.
oh, the $12 each euro shams are new.  they have a tiny ruffles all around and cute bows on the backs.

next to harper, is my huge french cabinet that holds linens.  it’s crammed full, too.

the window has the same ruffled curtains my other rooms have.

and the duvet is an older simply shabby chic bedding.

i don’t know why i waited so long to redo this room—i love it now!

garden changes…

i try to change things up, to get a different look, without spending much money.

this year, my barn door got a new look by adding a mirror, (that used to hang above my fireplace).  it’s surrounded by an easy to grow chocolate vine.

here’s last year’s look—the door held a planter.

i changed this chippy drawer into a planter.

and remember this wreath?  here’s a change i didn’t expect….putting it on the front porch a few weeks ago,

changed it into the home of these cute, but, messy  guys…i’m gonna need a new wreath:)

my bird cage stand usually holds a chandelier, now, it holds flowers.

my little ladder and porch post hold flowers, too.

and if, you live in the area, i changed where i buy flowers.  huge selection, big plants for much less than most.  save yourself some money and check it out.  the geraniums above were $12 and the huge petunia baskets were $16.

deck railing…

No winter lasts forever, no Spring skips it’s turn- Hal Borland

it’s finally starting to look like spring here.   one project we wanted to do this spring,
was to add a railing around our deck, --(to keep bailey from leaping on and off.)

we decided on some gothic pickets as the  railing.
in the center front of the deck, we also added an iron footboard.

that’s all for now—thanks for stopping by!
wishing all mothers a wonderful day tomorrow!

annie sloan’s duck egg to the rescue…

when I brought this table home, last summer, my husband thought is was ugly…

spindle-table5

he was right.

but, I loved the cute bottom shelf,

spindle-table3

and the details on the top edge.

I painted the legs and shelf with annie sloan’s duck egg chalk paint and the top white.  and i might stencil something on the top—not sure yet.

while I had the paint out, I painted this dough bowl—this was sanded and waxed.  the clear wax enriches the duck egg blue color and gives it a soft sheen.

and bailey, she is finally doing better.  she’s off all meds, and walks without limping or lifting her leg.
