annie sloan’s duck egg to the rescue…

when I brought this table home, last summer, my husband thought is was ugly…

he was right.

but, I loved the cute bottom shelf,

and the details on the top edge.

I painted the legs and shelf with annie sloan’s duck egg chalk paint and the top white.  and i might stencil something on the top—not sure yet.

while I had the paint out, I painted this dough bowl—this was sanded and waxed.  the clear wax enriches the duck egg blue color and gives it a soft sheen.

and bailey, she is finally doing better.  she’s off all meds, and walks without limping or lifting her leg.

the weekend is coming--have a great one!

  19. This is one beautiful little table. I have one very similar with 4 legs, it was my great grandmother's table. My mother had it dipped with the intention of refinishing it, but she passed away before she could do so. I should send you some photos so you can see it. It is still in need of being finished. :)

Glad to hear that your sweet little girl is feeling better. :)

  27. The top edge detail is super cute. You just reminded me that I have an ugly garbage find in the back of my car right now. I picked it up the other day and forgot all about it. You can see cute potential in ugly things - that is a talent!

  28. Hi Lynn ... wonderful vintage table and with the bad stains, you made the right choice to paint it. Look very pretty now. Great job. Yes, a stencil on the top might be interesting. Sorry Bailey has been sick and glad she is improving.
Thanks for the nice comment you made on my featured cloches at Revi's Revisionary Thrift Life Thursday.
