a junky dressing room…

hi everyone:)  I wanted to share a couple things today. I’m working on turning a small bedroom into a dressing room. 

it’s not done, but, the basics will be a dressing table, some racks for clothes, hamper, dresser, a dressing screen, dress form and, a linens cabinet.

I bought this cart for a hamper.  I might paint it white, not sure yet.  using old rose print sheets, I sewed the liner and added a cute white ruffle to it.

here’s the new dresser, i didn’t have to do anything to it, just filled it up. love the legs, crystal knobs and distressing.

and my husband cut out my gothic shaped dressing screen. I plan on painting and wallpapering it.

where I create--this valentine’s day…

when my husband asked what I wanted for vday this year….this was it. he helped me create my new craft room in our great room.   he never blinked an eye, just made it happen—I so love that about him:)

 

the traditional sofa, chairs, tables, big tv, just wasn’t how I used the great room.  I  was continually dragging projects to this room, and the craft room was slowly becoming a catch all. 

 

first, he built a 6’6” farm styled table-(which will serve as a dining table, too) and replaced the ceiling fan with a chandelier.

this cabinet hold books, my ribbons, florals, my silhouette, and die cutter.

   

I saw a cabinet at home goods with a tin fleur de lis on the front of it.  I already had a fleur de lis, so, he built this cabinet. it has a hinged door, and holds my sewing machine. 

****if you have a dress form you’d like to share---on march 11th, carol at polka dot closet is having her 2nd annual dress form ball—-I gave harlow an updated look for the ball.

I showed you this french buffet earlier, now, it’s white and has new old handles, and a couple wood appliques on the doors.  it holds my painting, sewing, and paper crafts supplies.

this room makes me so happy!

wishing for spring…

I miss flowers.  so I found this old crate, and shoved some silk hydrangeas, twigs, and fillers into it.  this will have to do until my garden grows back.

vintage junk…

vintage junk comes in many different shapes and sizes.  I spent some time in my craft room stamping on some gift bags.  I like to keep a supply of them on hand and these are perfect for gift card giving.

two more examples of vintage junk--this french sofa.  I’m hoping to recover this…  it might take me awhile to get it done, but, I’ll show you the results—good or bad:)

and this cute french provincial buffet just needs painted.  I think it’s a broyhill piece, and, it might be missing a hutch.
