french provincial cabinet…

hi everyone!  this cabinet was found in a consignment shop—I just love it:) I bought with some xmas money, so it was free! 

it’s in perfect shape, but, it needed a good cleaning, and a paint job-inside and out.  I removed the glass door inserts, added new knobs and made some curtains for it. (the stamp on the back, says thomasville 1968).   

here are some before pics.

inside it has several glass shelves, a couple drawers and it’s lighted.  

living in a small home, I will love the extra storage.  I think I’ll add some applique wreaths to the two large doors.  something like the wreath I attached to this basket, only larger.

faux chalkboard sign...

another faux project,--you might remember this quote from an earlier post.  after reading lucy's post yesterday, i played around with picmonkey.

here's what i did. -- first, grab a free chalkboard background download.

then, i  uploaded the chalkboard background into picmonkey and added the wreath, fading the wreath a bit. 

i love this wreath, which can be found in the christmas theme section, under wreathery.  but there are tons of free images to use on picmonkey-so be sure to check them out:)  

the last step is to add the text.  the cute font i used is only available on picmonkey, if you upgrade to their royale membership.   if you have the upgrade, you can add the text in picmonkey--easy peasy.   the upgrade -$4.99 a month, --gives you access to more fonts and images than the basic free program has to offer.

but, i don't have that, so, i saved my design to my computer. 

i  downloaded the "janda stylish script font here and added the text to the design using photoshop.  if you don't have photoshop-- here is a free program- gimp- you can use, to add the text.  

these can be printed out and added to frames, for papercrafting, like tags, labels, cards or used on your blog, ect.

faux rusty candelabra...

hi everyone!  i thought i'd share a quick and easy idea today.  

this candelabra -(a junk store xmas present)- had a shiny brass finish, but, after a quick coat of brown craft paint, it now has a rusty look.  all i had to do was drape some crystals on it.

here's a close up.  you can see the gold peeking through the brown paint.  

and when i'm done with this look...i'll spray paint  it white!
