hi everyone! today, I’m joining “where bloggers create 2012”. when I had a chance to re-do my room, I knew I wanted my favorite junk pieces and my husband’s furniture in the room. (he built the 2 work tables, wall cubbie, pink cabinet, the vintage shelf over the window, and the tin awning over the bed).
this shelf is made of two porch columns, a door-(cut in half for the shelf), and the pink scalloped trim is from an old picture frame. I printed out the letters onto a book text background and they are hanging on white clipboards.

hanging from the door shelf is an old birdcage with a chandelier inside it.
I painted the old shutters white, and added rose appliques to them.

it’s hard to see, but, I painted this dresser pink and white, to match the tall cabinet, and added a applique to the door. I think I’ll add curtains where the doors should be.
hope you enjoyed the tour---you can see the old room here. now, I’m off to visit everyone’s rooms—wanna go too? click here!
thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteCHARM CHARM CHARM!!! So much wonderful vintage stuff in here. But not too much! My fav is your window shelf and everything on it. I think you better hold onto that man! Love your FAB space!
ReplyDeletei just have to say, i am sooooo jealous of women with husbands that will actually build stuff like this for them. i can't get my husband's mind off of golf, video games, and gratuitous sex and violence movies long enough for him to do anything like this for me! if there's any building at all, i have to do it myself. you're very lucky!
ReplyDeleteLove your space, Lynn! What a great size room and I love how you've got it all set up. Love that you have a window. I can see that is what I will be jealous over from other creative spaces. You've got some great storage pieces and I love how everything has its place. Such a lovely room to come into and set to creating!
ReplyDeleteLove it....love all the vintage touches....so pretty...I would love a room like that!! Thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI have a really bad case of Space Envy!
ReplyDeleteYour room is wonderful and you have so
many different items that are just divine!
You must get such inspiration working
here..
Sandy
Oh, Lynn, your space is too wonderful for words! I don't think I would get is single thing done in that room. I'd be too busy sitting there with my cup of coffee admiring the room and all the unique vintage and handcrafted items you've incorporated. Just plain fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSigh.
And to think I actually felt sad for you that you'd be losing your work space to make it a sleeping room! I should've known better. You're such a creative spirit with a great eye for design.
ReplyDelete-Revi
I forgot to mention how clever the clipboard idea is!

Oh my goodness! I always think your outside decorating is so cute that you must not spend as much time on the inside. But lately you have posted inside pictures and I am just awestruck! How do you have time to put this all together??! I am so impressed--it is LOVELY! I would be so inspired in there. I see so many projects I would like to try to put together in there. I love it! Thanks for sharing your beautiful room!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely GORGEOUS!! I think I would just spend all my time in there:)

ReplyDeleteJust dreamy! So envious of the cubbie by hubby. Love the white-washed 7 Gypsies drawer and the cute file-folder divider. Makes me want to see all that is tucked inside there. I do miss seeing your cards! Hopefully this fall that chalkboard will have a note that says meet Lynn D for coffee! You are doing an amazing job with your decorating and photography. TFS
ReplyDeleteI think if I had a 'real' room I would decorate it like yours. One question - was the cubbie bought like that or did you have it made special?

I have a sad little folding table in my bedroom that I try to create at and no where to store anything, let alone to decorate so beautifully. Thanks for showing us your space and showing me my dream!

Absolutely gorgeous! I'm noticing, as I visit space after space, that it doesn't matter how many pieces and bits and bobs are in a space when there is a whole lot of white going on. So much lighter and brighter and prettier!! I HAVE to redo my space now... lol

ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by Cozy Home Scenes and leaving the nice comment. I'm so glad I came to your blog today and am fortunate to see your awesome work space. It is exactly what I would love if I could start over. I love the femmine look of the room even without much color. Pink is my favorite color so your use of pink pleases me. ReplyDeleteOh, do I have studio envy. What a wonderful space to create. I am afraid I would stop creating and just sit and enjoy. BTW- I printed out the St. Etienne clock face and put it on a CD. I didn't realize when I chose it that Etienne is Steven in French. My husband was flattered that I chose his name. I didn't tell him I chose it because it is red.
ReplyDeleteLove your room!
ReplyDeleteStunning! I don't know where to look first!

I love this space! I am interested in learning more about your vintage locker. Did you refinish it yourself? How deep is it? My father-in-law has offered me something similar if I want it, but I'm trying to figure out how to restore it and use it. Thanks! :)
ReplyDeletehi brittany,
Deletethe locker has it's original vintage pink finish--all i did was give it a good cleaning.
i didn't show the inside, but, i papered the inside walls with book pages. since, i changed my craft room, this locker is now holding my garden supplies.
thanks, for visiting,
lynn
