essentials…

I was going to use the enamel box in my bathroom to hold towels.  but, when I got it home, it ended up on my wall in the corner of my living room, filled with my hydrangeas.
it has a metal tag on the front that says “essentials”.  the picture frame was only $4.00 at a garage sale.

funky junk is doing a give away of folk magazine--just link up with your flower inspiration here!

that little tin started a change up of my whole living room:) I added two of my pillars and my table, all which I already had.

I found the dress form sits on a wooden candle pillar.

the two books hold a mason jar with candles and a clay tag.

the cloche has a  green wreath for it.  you can see the how to steps below.

and the chippy white iron garden chair is one of two, found at a resale store last fall. I finally made seats for them.

I covered the chair seats with old bank bags (under the wood pieces)

I’ll be back monday with the winner of my give away—thanks for looking!

  7. AWESOME- oh I just love what you've done to that corner space - it all is so cohesive and just plain WONDERFUL!!

That is incredibly clever about the bank bags- I managed a bank for years, wish I would have thought to save a few of those super old ones. The last bank I managed was the oldest in the city and had the hugest basement storage with all sorts of things that weren't used anymore, was a museum in itself down there. Ah well, those years are past - wonder if it was ever cleanest out down there - ?

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  26. What wonderful ideas you have! I just love your re-dos. The white chair in your April 18th post is sitting outside in my backyard. I paid $1 for it a couple years ago and have been using it as a plant stand. It did not have a bottom in it when I purchased it, so I just cut a board from my sweet hubby's scrape pile. After seeing your version I am ready to French Country Shabby it up. You may see it in a future post on my blog. Thank you for the idea. I am your newest follower. Please accept my warm invitation to visit my blog. I would be honored to have you follow me too. Connie :)

  41. I am in love with that pillar! I have seen some for cheap at garage sales in the past but didn't have a spot for them - so wish I had snapped them up anyway - since our living room has been finished i haven't found any cheap! You said you got some stuff at the springfield flea - do you live in Ohio?? I'm in Covington - close to Troy and Piqua.
