hi everyone, i have a quick post to share my latest project. these chandeliers inside a birdcage are all over pinterest, and i love the look:)
my husband wired one of my mini chandeliers into this cage, and hung it over my craft table. it was rusty white, so i didn't have to do anything to it.
here it is lit up.
now, if hanging isn't an option for you, check out this gorgeous table top version by tracie at fishtail cottage. and her birdcage has a little nest is the bottom of it. isn't this corner so pretty? love the ruffled tablecloth, and the sweet pillow, too.
thanks for looking!
sharing...
common ground, faded charm, feathered nest, funky junk, cottage garden party, simple and sweet fridays, home sweet home, vintage farmhouse, shabbilicious friday, very merry vintage

That is wonderful! I love both options.

ReplyDeleteSo charming! The white chippy birdcage is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteI did try this myself at Christmastime. I placed a little crystal dresser lamp inside my BROWN birdcage. Not cute at all. And my husband asked why in the world was there a lamp in the birdcage. Hehehe. Needless to say, it didn't stay in there.
Ha! I was just at Tracie's blog post about this, Lynn! This looks great and I was thinking the chandelier plug-in lights they make might work good for this if you can't wire something up. I had gotten a nice size one for my granddaughter's room when I did her makeover and with no ceiling box, it worked out great to swag it and plug it in.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous and so clever! I love both versions!
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteYes I have seen these too.And yours is gorgeous!!!!! Love the white metal with the sparkle of the crystals and light.Where did you find your chandy?

Oh my goodness, but you have absolutely wonderful ideas all over the pages of your blog. This bird cage is marvelous. A few posts down you have a simple wooden block, cut from a 4x4, or 6x6 fence post, turned candle holder. I am so in love with that idea . . . the wheels are spinning so fast in my head that smoke is coming out my ears. What an inspiration you are. I am your newest follower. Please accept my warm invitation to visit my blog. Oh, oh, oh, I can not wait until I have more time to dig into your archives. Have a wonderful 4th of July.

P.S. Did I see that you are an Indian girl? I was born in South Bend. Raised in Michigan City and now live in the Pacific Northwest. You can take the girl out of Indiana, but you can't take Indiana out of the girl.
I Love this Look too... and yours is Beautiful! I have been lighting Candles in my Bird Cages for decades and the G-Kids have always thought Gramma a bit of a nut for having Bird Cages with no Birds! *LOL* But I Love the Shadows they cast when lit from inside and who can resist a Vintage Bird Cage anyway?! *Winks, not I!* One of my most breath-taking 'scores' whilst Junquing was years ago... I had seen a Fab Huge floor standing Italian Tole Bird Cage with Roses on it on the cover of Romantic Homes and fell in Love with it. Well... only weeks later I'm trawling a local Antique Store and what do I see but the EXACT SAME BIRD CAGE and barely $100!!! My Heart nearly fluttered out of my Chest... it is still a Prize possession.
